We’re Sorry

We are so sorry for the upset and offense caused by the Business Loan Awards on Wednesday evening.

We have been reading your reactions on Twitter and across social media over the past two days and we hear you – we missed the mark and we wholeheartedly apologise.

Our aim was to celebrate tech and never to undermine the incredible women in the industry or do anything to negate the work everyone in the industry is doing to promote equality and redress the balance.

We’re learning from what you’ve got to say and we’re putting plans in place to work with organisations across the north to learn more about where we went wrong and how we can improve.

At this stage, it’s not clear if we will move forward with the event next year but if we do, we will reach out to you to hear your thoughts on how we celebrate technology in the right way.

We’re sorry to the winners, and everyone involved, who we had aimed to celebrate and recognise. This in no way negates the incredible work that these organisations are doing in the industry.
